we got it!

we got approved!!! we take over the new lease next friday 20th april. The removalists are booked in for the saturday.
We heard back 5pm on Thursday... exactly a week after finding out we had to move. I can't believe how smoothly things ran, how easy it all was. What luck!
Mum is coming down on sunday to spend the day with me helping me pack. I'm going to send a whole bunch of stuff back with her to keep in storage in dad's shed back in Bundaberg. Things like my huge framed Beatles and John Lennon poster. I still love the Beatles and I love these posters but its just so hard when sharing a house to find room to put these up. Plus over the years, my tastes have changed and grown and I've bought some pieces of artwork I would also like to put up.
And there's just not enough hooks in walls for all the things I want to put up!
I'm also going to get rid of all my odd towels, lots of old clothes, send some books home with mum and maybe also get rid of some mis-matching plates/cups/glasses/tupperware stuff. One day when I need this stuff again, I can finally buy some quality, matching things.

Today though, I'm going to the races with the social club from work. We've booked a private area and everything. I couldn't sleep, so that's why I'm up at 7.30am on a saturday instead of sleeping in like any normal human being!!!
Plus I've got so much to do - like my hair!!! I don't know how I'm going to style it, its not quite long enough to have too many options. But I made a fascinator type thing out of a hair comb, pale yellow puffy feathers, some long black feathers and a string of black beads. All of the girls at work have been fascinator-obsessed this past week or so. The races are always a fun excuse to get dressed up, and its tradition to wear a hat or fascinator. But as I went looking for one at stores, I realized they are soooooo ridiculously expensive - like $40-80! for some feathers stuck to a headband/comb or stupid bit of mesh. screw that hippy. So we've been trying to make our own, not always with much sucess.
Mine looks ok but I dont know how its going to go in my hair. I will surely take some photos/campics later on this morning to show you what I mean.
Anyway I should probably start getting ready, I still need to refresh the red in my hair with some semi-permanent hair dye, and getting dressed, doing hair and makeup will no doubt take me all 3.5 hours I have left to get ready. I plan to wake up the boy, who is fast asleep in my bed, at about 10am and no doubt he'll be ready well and truly before me. hahahha

ahh the joys of being female. Needing 3+ hours to get ready for something.

Removalists? Is that a fancy new word for 'movers'?

Congrats on your new space. Hope it's as comfortable or more than your last home.

I hope the move went well! It sounds like an awesome place and despite the pain of actually having to move on such short notice, it sounds like things may work out for the best!
