memory smell
Memories are fascinating. Here I am researching and reading up about perms for a hair website I'm working on, and as I'm reading over information about perming solution and rollers. Suddenly years of memories of my mum's hair salon come flooding back and I swear I can smell perming solution. Of course I can't, I'm in the office... but my mind is playing tricks on me and I can fully imagine the smell of perming solution in the air.
And that smells invokes so many more memories. Still to this day, I love hanging out in my mum's shop- the smells of shampoo, hair spray, freshly cut hair. Usually I'm sitting up the back wearing a cape that makes me feel like a cloaked superhero, sections of my hair all wrapped up in foil, flipping through hair magazines, listening to bundy's Hitz FM radio station. Or as mum is packing up for the day I'm sweeping up hair, rinsing out bowls with left over hair dye and bleach in them. Newly dyed hair, freshly cut- I love it. Mirrors everywhere, I can see my new hair from every direction. A mountain of hair products all laid out in front of me. I go to town styling my hair.
AHHHHHH I need a haircut already! Mum's coming down to visit me in April for Easter, so I'll be getting a cut then. But its not the same, playing hairdressers in my bathroom. I love her salon. I think I'll have to go and get a cut before then though. *gulp* This will be 4th haircut I've ever paid for.... IN MY WHOLE LIFE!

i remember the last time you had your haircut by someone else. the girl cut the sides super short and such. and gave you daring bangs, i suggest you go back to that girl and have her go to town. =D how are you thinking of cutting it?

yea i remember the sides were pretty short, but there were no 'darling bangs'.
just getting a trim.

Not on subject, but a question you might be able to answer for me. A band called The Veronicas is touring New York State this month, and I see they are from Bribane. My first thought is that you would probably know something about them. So if you do can you fill me in on what you think? They are touring with October Fall, who I think are ok,but wouldnt go see just by themselves.
Thanks for any info you might know or dig up for me.

the veronicas- i think they are 19. they are twins. they went to high school here in brisbane. they moved to LA to pursue their music career, and they are starting to take off.
they are pop music- of course, like avril lavigne, if you asked them they were claim to be punk or something. they wear clothes that look like they come from hot topic, or supre (australian store)
um... that's all i know off hand. oh and i have a habit of listening to their album on repeat for hours. its really catchy and i'm a sucker for pop.
anyway why dont you google them? their official website and their myspace should have plenty of music samples for you to listen to. and pretty pictures to look at.

Thanks, I have been to their my space, but didnt know they started their music carreer here, and thought you might have seen them. Anyway your opinion is always worth getting on music. I like Avril and dont like Ashley,so I dont really know where I end up on them and appreciate your perspective. Thanks to Rach too.
