i would like to apologise to my website for seriously neglecting it. life has been a bit busy, true. but mostly its because life is just damn sweet at the moment. and a happy, satisfied girl is not really blogger-material. despite recovering from a pretty nasty cold/flu, that was brought on by too much fun (late nights, booze, cigarettes, cold air) during the last 2 weeks, i've had an awesome, relaxing weekend at home.... with company.

boys are nice. not all, i know that from experience, but certain ones are very nice. and i'm mighty pleased to have found a great one.

i'll be bloggin again soon, for sure. i just dont want to share everything i'm going through right now with everyone... and unfortunately, anything i write here is eventually read by pretty much everyone i know. *waves*

a few random thoughts- i've got more tegan and sara gig photos to go through... my sister has finally gotten net at home again- i had really missed talking to her, and we're both too lazy when it comes to the phone... i recently saw the new Rent trailer, and i got serious goosebumps watching it. i cannot WAIT for this movie, as well as Serenity. i had the most vivid dream last night about going back to thailand..and now i am motivated to brush up on my thai skills and go back over there again soon... and i'd really like to take someone with me. it would be so much more fun sharing the experience with someone i really care about.

sydney pics are finally up- and can be found here in the photo gallery. My tegan and sara pics weren't great, because we weren't right up the front, however we had an awesome view over the entire crowd, as we were standing up on some seats towards the back.

I also have pics from the skinny's music instore performance on saturday and two nights worth of Pilate photos. You can see some of the skinny's music instore pics on my livejournal and a bit of a recap.

We saw Pilate play at the Zoo on saturday night, and then hang out with them and the guys from the Panics til 6.30am. crazy crazy night- there was interpretive dancing to simon and garfunkle and much wacky fun. and of course the 'we're with the band' priviledges were fantastic (hahah ok so that only really included going backstage at the zoo, getting into the Troubador after lock out time and then exiting the Troubador at 6.30am out the back entrance and getting to each carry a bag of rubbish out for them- WOOT)

I barely slept on sunday and although i had promised to go and see them sunday night at Coolangatta, I was about to pike- i felt like utter shit. but at the last minute i showered and threw some clothes on and tumbled in the car and ended up having a fucking awesome night. again Pilate were amazing to see live- even though they were all shagged from the night before. after their set, we hung out with Ruby (bass player) outside (we coudln't really talk over the Panics- Ruby had lost his voice, kinda from the night before). After they had all packed up for the night, we enventually had to say goodbye. It was so sad, because they were really great guys and alot of fun to hang out with. If they were playing more shows in queensland, I would definately go and see them again and again and again, but unfortunatley they were off to Sydney and the rest of Australia and I've already flown to see one canadian band this month *sigh*

anyways, there are lots of pics, of them playing and with them after the shows. i will put them up hopefully tonight.

i've also got some videos but of course they are too huge to put up. i will have to try and compress them somehow, but not sure exactly how. i've got adobe premier at home on my pc, will try that.

tegan and sara (plus little birdy) show tonight (it was spose to be on friday but it got postponed) and then tegan and sara (no little birdy) tomorrow night at the gold coast. woot, cept i'm getting sick. my throat is killing and my nose has started running and getting blocked and i'm sneezing like crazy. body says NO MORE BOOZE/LATE NIGHTS/CIGARETTES but too bad- there are still 2 more nights of it. i know for sure i will become deathly ill on wednesday. if only my body can hold out til then.

two more sleeps til sydney and the excitment is rising. today has been a bit of a taste of the weather we could expect in sydney....its freaking COLD! my body just can't cope with this kind of weather. i'm definately taking scarves and big jackets and thick socks and boots so hopefully i wont freeze too badly.

i'm a bit frustrated at having to miss out on a bunch of cool things this weekend- The Bravery concert, a Douglas Fir gig, a certain someone's birthday bbq etc, but then i remember i'm going to sydney with my best friend who i've never really gone on holidays with (going home to bundy doesn't count!) and going to see my absolute favourite band for only the second time in my life. so i guess i've gotta take the bad with the awesome good.

the plan so far- early morning flight, arrive in sydney, shuttle bus to the backpackers to drop off our bags and stuff, then head into the city for shopping and possibly checking out the markets at the Rocks.

Apart from that and the gig on Tuesday night, we really don't have any other plans. there will hopefully be a day of slightly touristy, sight-seeing with the help of davo (here's hoping we get to see more than just the inside of a pub, but then again, what else are holidays for? hehehe)

if anyone from sydney reads my site, let me know what you recommend we do- we're there from sunday ti wednesday and will be staying in Kings Cross.

oh god, the weather widget says its currently 10 degrees (celcius) in brisbane. jesus christ that's cold. we've had a really mild winter up until now. this is by far the coldest day in AGES. I just flipped over to Sydney's current weather and altho its sunny, its only 13 degrees. ARGH!

i'm a little low on blogging material atm, after a pretty big livejoural post (friends only of course), so instead i'll just link a couple of funny websites that have made my monday more bearable.

The Perry Bible Fellowship - a comic strip by Nicholas Gurewitch. An extremely cute but completely wrong series of comics. Some of my favourites are: Gopher Trouble, Not Today Little One, Small Man, Adult Heaven, Space Prank, Eden, Instant Bacon.

Music that has brightened up my day - Jack Off Jill - I'd never heard this band before, but I totally love it. woohoo angry chick music.

hopefully i'm finally going to see The Island tomorrow night. It's insane how much they are plugging it on tv and every time I see the ad, I totally want to see it. And we're going to check out Taco Tuesday at a local bar/cafe for dinner- $2 tacos, $3 burritos, $4 coronas and my 2 favourite boys.

its after 5 at work and drinking has began. there is pool and tekken being played. hopefully sing star will be coming out soon so i can kick david's asss, being the great singer that i am.

went and saw a film at BIFF (brisbane international film festival) called 36 Quai des Orfevres which was really awesome, if not a little fucked up and sad. hopefully going to see a few other films over the weekend too with my biff buddy. the evil month of august has begun- evil in a good way. there is just so much on this month. gigs, trips away, birthdays, and more gigs. so many gigs. seriously, it feels like every decent band in the world has decided to play in brisbane this month. oh and next month too. i forsee a very broke rhiannon- broke but happy. life is good and i will be full of merch and have heaps of photos of cool ass bands.
