Triple J Whore

I'm turning into a huge triple j fan. I've been listening to it at work most days. I never really got into the radio, because I don't drive (and most people seem to do their radio listening in the car on the way to work/home again). I don't even own a radio/sterio- My computer & speakers and ipod are all I need.

ANyway, the other week I was listening to Myf during the Lunch Time show, and she was talking about the lead singer of Maximo Park and said she thought he was sporting a comb over, but wasnt sure. Straight away I googled and lo and behold, he IS sporting a comb over. Shocking!!! Then again, I guess if the mullet can make a comeback, so can the combover.

I posted in Myf's guestbook on the triple j website and linked to some pics of his dreadfully unfashionable combover.... A few minutes later she starts talking about Maximo Park and announces the hairstyle was confirmed by Rhiannon in the guestbook. I almost squealed and looked around crazily, but then realized no one else could hear the radio as I had head phones on.

A bit later on, she mentioned the combover, my guestbook comment and thanked me again. Can you tell I was having a boring day at work? I got so excited though, being mentioned on the radio, even if no one else heard it.

SO today, during the regular lunchtime trashy quiz, I had to repress the urge to bash my head repeatedly against the desk, as caller after caller kept fucking up the quiz questions. I'd like to say they were easy questions, but unless you're a celebrity-trash blog reader, I guess they weren't. I just had to vent my frustrations somewhere, so back to the trusty guestbook. I left another comment, and mentioned I'd kick ass in this quiz but I can't really call during work, and a few minutes later it appeared along with this response:

Rhiannon, I hear your pain!
Thanks for the websites too. I haven't been to them before . . .
You're unreal. We'll have to get you on one day.
Myf

So naturally I had to respond again, this time with my website url at the end of my comment. hehehehe. So if it gets posted and anyone follows the link to my site, HI *waves*.

I too am a triple J manwhore... I don`t own many CD`s because I listen to the J's so much... an dI was accused of being too old to listen to it last week by a NOVA listener, so I told them to go fuck themselves and that they now owe me a beer...

And you being mentioned by Myf on her show I heard that but thought it would be way too small a world for that to be you and disregarded the thought.... seems it is a VERY small world after all, (sings) its a small, small world.

'sup fellow triple J whores. I too am an addict and have been since grade 5 when my uncle bought me this totally awesome yellow waterproof walkman. I'd listen to triple j before school. Helen Razor and Mikey Robbins just blew my mind. Since then I've rarely been without. I allways needed some kind of radio reception to check in.
Though I interact with the station rarely I am a very strong supporter. I've won the trashy lunchtime quiz once and my red drum shirt makes a great nightie. I also came second in a huge competition adam and will were running once. It was a scavenger hunt with a clue given each day for a week. The person who won was insanely good, it was only about a month later I got the letter in the mail explaining that I came second and I got a free white stripes CD. Good old ABC povo prizes, I was over the moon though.

I told you a few years ago that you would be great in radio, and part of it was that I just knew it would make you shine inside. The other part is that with the things you love and remeber, you would be amazing at it.

i love emailing the radio dj while i'm at work. i get all excited when i hear "pink floyd for rhiannon." he's cool, gave me tickets to something once. won a few things, too. i'll call during work, i don't care!

i go on the morning show every once in awhile to plug events that i'm having. that's really fun to be in the studio & actually see how people look, after knowing what they sound like.

anyway, you should totally find a way to get on there!
