god i'm going insane waiting for mum to come visit. my hair is really bothering me, it feels so long and scraggly. its not doing anything i want it to do. plus i haven't seen mum in ages, so i'm getting really excited. and of course there's the slight nervousness that goes along with parentals meeting 'the boyfriend'... even though the rest of my family has met him and given him the seal of approval. hehe
on friday night, we had another work social club activity - this time it was a 2 hour sunset cruise. Floating around the brisbane river, with food and drink of course. First sip of alcohol and I almost stumbled - i didn't have my sea legs. But the cruise went by without a hitch. I was so sure someone would fall down those steep steps, or would spill a drink, but i think the whole evening went by without incident.
Most of us continued on at the Plough Inn afterwards, which was lots of fun and very revealing. Of course, lots of photos were taken- my photos are of course in my gallery.
More photos are here on david's site. And I think aaron will have some pics up at some point.
There was an 18th birthday party also there, and a few girls were in costume... There were 2 girls in Sexy Cop costumes. I got one of the girls email addresses so I could find out what website she got hers off. It was so awesome!!!! Check her out here. Unfortunately with $30 postage, and then converter american dollars to aussie dollars, the costume would end up costing $110. But god, I think it would be worth it.
Another girl had bought her costume from Bra's & Things, but it just wasn't as good as this one and had long sleeves. I much prefer the short sleeved option. Don't ask me what I would do with a Sexy Cop costume (ok ok, I could definatley think of something to do with it/someone to appreciate it ;) hehe). But I just want to own an awesome, kick ass costume- so I've got it handy for any future costume parties. I've spent some much money hiring costumes in the past- I might as well just buy a costume to have and to own. And as much as I love Wonder Woman, the sexy cop costume (with little black mini over the top) is a bit more 'wearable in public' than the Wonder Woman leotard.
The rest of my weekend was pretty good. Holly, Cindy and I went to dinner at the Turkish resturant I used to work at in 2002. The food was even better than I remember it, and we stuffed ourselves silly, then watched movies at Holly's place.
The guys at work have also started downloading all the new series of our favourite tv shows - Lost, Arrested Development, Nip Tuck, The OC (ok, so that was me. I'm sure they don't watch the OC heh), as well as some new shows- Kitchen Confidential (with Xander from Buffy in it!!!!) and My Name Is Earl.
MY GOD, how good was the season premier of Lost!!!! If you haven't seen it yet, GO! DOWNLOAD!

Do you know what ever happened to "Mort the eskimo"? I believe he was from Australia, and I think you did know him at one point. Plus all you aussies know each other anyway. :) Just wondering if he still had a website or something.

I accidentally watched the Lost premiere (which was preceeded by a 1 hour recap of last season). I had never watched it before, but I'm now hooked. I *HAVE* to know what happens next.
Alias premieres Thursday, which is my fav show (and has been since it premiered).
I caught the premiere of My Name Is Earl, which was refreshingly different. I'm not sure how long it will last, but I dig Jason Lee's comedic style, so I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
Invasion, which premiered after Lost, was pretty good, too. It's worth checking out...

Yes, you have to download the bit torrent client (azureus) and then you can download the torrent files.
but honestly, if you've having to ask someone like me for clarification, chances are you're not going to understand it.
hell, i dont mean that in an offensive way- i didn't even set it up on my computer. david did. he had to open some port and lots of other stuff and its all too technical for me. i just waited til he said 'all done', and then its just a matter of downloading the torrent file and opening it in the client.
i understood programs like kazaa- you search for files, locate users with those files and then start downloading straight off them. simple and straight forward. However, there were lots of problems with that method.
Bit Torrent (from what i understand) gets around these problems, and you download a file in lots of little pieces from different users and then in turn people can download tiny pieces off you.
Anyway, all i can recommend is your read the FAQ on that page or google bit torrent for instructions for setting it up. Or find a geeky boy to help you :)

aww thanks. its just grown out from the shorter style and the front/fringe bits are just very heavy around my face- very helmet like, which is bothering me.
but i definately have days were i quite like the way its looking as it grows longer. as nice as long hair is, its already getting too hot. i'm already considering cutting it all short again.
